Hellenic American Education Center hosts the First PanHellenic Psychotherapy Colloquium
Organized by the Hellenic American Education Center Psychology Department, the success of the First PanHellenic Psychotherapy Colloquium was held to great success July 2nd – July 13th.
This summer, July 2 - 13, Hellenic American University students were offered the opportunity to earn credits toward their degree while attending a series of stimulating workshops outside the traditional classroom. The workshops were conducted as sessions of the First PanHellenic Psychotherapy Colloquium which presented the current practice of psychotherapy in Greece. Leading practitioners of various approaches to the practice of psychotherapy gave an overview of their school of thought and relevant scientific findings, and speakers presented their perspectives on the ways in which psychologists work today to achieve one overarching goal: the improvement of a person’s quality of life. The event also served the purpose of informing the general public about the options they have when choosing psychotherapeutic services.
The Colloquium was designed by a team of psychologists and therapists working under the guidance of Hellenic American University Professor Dr. Tina Stathopoulou. Audience feedback was very positive and the event will be repeated in the future.
