The exhibition series Photographic Pairs 2020, organized in cooperation with Hellenic American Union and the “Photography Circle”, continues with an exhibition of photos by Kostas Karamolengos and Antigoni Mirilakou.
Each exhibition in series features the work of two photographers, both members of the “Photography Circle”, whose paths in life or photography cross. In some cases the featured photographers will be relatives or dear friends; or it may be that their subject matter or approach will be common. They may also be related by the substantial difference of a seemingly common work.
The new photographic pair are Kostas Karamolengos and Antigoni Mirilakou.
Commenting on the work of the two photographers, the exhibit’s curator, Panos Rozakis, notes: "The photos of Kostas Karamolegos and Antigoni Myrilakou portray a world that is immersed in silence, safely keeping its well-hidden secrets. Their poetic gaze, marked by abstractive boldness, composes equivocal images that give rise to questions and preclude easy interpretations".
Photo critic and founder of the "Photography Circle", Platon Rivellis, is the curator of the series, and Panos Rozakis is the curator of this tenth exhibition.
