On Monday, December 16, Nikos Vatopoulos will present his book entitled “Walking in Athens” at Hellenic American College. Nikos Vatopoulos’ book is a compilation of photos and accompanying texts that came about from walks in various neighborhoods of Athens. With its mix of architectural styles, crumbling houses juxtaposed against concrete buildings, and empty facades aside sound buildings, this is a guide to a secret landscape, one that speaks of social change, cultural development and the comings and goings of ordinary people.
The event features a discussion in English between the book’s author and journalist, Nikos Vatopoulos, and its translator, Joshua Barley, and is organized by Hellenic American College in cooperation with Hellenic American Union and Metaichmio Publishers.
