Each undergraduate program includes a set of 6 elective courses in addition to the required courses for your major and the General Education component. You are free to select whatever courses you want, provided you meet any pre-requisites. You could devote these electives to specialize within your chosen field. Alternatively, you could do a more focused set of interrelated courses called a minor.

The minor is an excellent way to pursue an intellectual or cultural interest you might have or broaden your skill set or further your professional development. Are you an English major with a dream of starting your own school? Complement your B.A. in English Language and Literature with a Minor in Entrepreneurship or General Business. A Psychology student with a passion for playing the cello? Use your electives to earn a minor in Music Performance. And whatever your degree program, minors such as the ones in Communication or Project Management enable you to build the kind of transferrable soft skills that will give a competitive edge in your future career.
