Barbara Kondilis, adjunct instructor in the Psychology programs, delivered a talk on "Communicating 'Trust' and 'Freedom' in headlines during COVID19" for the 19th International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Communication, Medicine, and Ethics, which took place online on 28-30 June 2021.
Dr. Alessandra Sax, Director of the Psychology Division, has contributed a chapter on “Adolescent Development: Taking a Closer Look at the Brain and Virtual Educational Learning Experiences” in the recently published Handbook of Research on K-12 Blended Learning and Virtual Learning Through the i2Flex Classroom Model.
Vasiliki Lismani, MAAL-TESOL ‘21, presented at the TESOL Spain 44th Annual Conference on March 14. Her presentation “Using translanguaging to activate students' schemata for the teaching of reading in English as a Foreign Language" was based on her thesis submitted for the MAAL-TESOL program.
At the upcoming 17th Annual Conference of the Forum on Education Abroad, E. Karachaliou, Director of Student Affairs and International Programs (SAIP), and G. Barton, Assistant Director of SAIP, will facilitate a section called Community Connection on the topic, “COVID-19: Is this the opportunity for a new study abroad era?”
Αdjunct faculty member Dr. Alexander Nikolaou and Dr. Jennifer Sclafani, a former HAUniv faculty member now at UMass Boston, co-presented their research at the 24th International Symposium of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. Their paper looked at the construction of identity in the narratives of 'return' migration.
