At the upcoming 17th Annual Conference of the Forum on Education Abroad, E. Karachaliou, Director of Student Affairs and International Programs (SAIP), and G. Barton, Assistant Director of SAIP, will facilitate a section called Community Connection on the topic, “COVID-19: Is this the opportunity for a new study abroad era?”
Αdjunct faculty member Dr. Alexander Nikolaou and Dr. Jennifer Sclafani, a former HAUniv faculty member now at UMass Boston, co-presented their research at the 24th International Symposium of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. Their paper looked at the construction of identity in the narratives of 'return' migration.
Alexandra Papamanoli (MAT ‘21) and Associate Professor and Associate Provost Dr. Themis Kaniklidou have had their paper “COVID-19 representations in political statements: A corpus-driven analysis” accepted for publication in the edited volume: Pandemic and Crisis Discourse. Communicating COVID-19.
Xenia Argyri (MAT ‘21) has been accepted for a two-month traineeship with the translation firm INTERTRANSLATIONS. The traineeship is one of the thesis options in the M.A. in Translation program.
Eleni Svoronou (MAT ’21) was invited to start working for the agency INTERPRETIT as an external translator. She was offered the assignment following her participation in a webinar that the agency had organized for translation and interpreting students.
Dr. Dimitris Tolias (Director of eLearning) and Spiros Christopoulos (University IT Coordinator and adjunct instructor in Informatics) presented a case study of the institution’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic at the 5th Digital Business Transformation Conference on June 25-26.
