On January 12 2017, Hellenic American College will host the Greek round of the "Annual Hult Prize", a social entrepreneurship competition in which teams of undergraduate and graduate students from public and private colleges and universities propose solutions to resolve social challenges. This year's topic is "Refugees - The Reawakening of Human Potential". Hellenic American College will be fielding its first team at this year's competition, and hosting the Greek national competition as well.

The solution proposed by Hellenic American College students focuses on the restoration of human rights and dignity of people and communities who have been forced to relocate due to social inequalities, political turmoil, financial distress, climate change and war.

The Hult Prize Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to launching the world's next wave of social entrepreneurs. It encourages young business minds to propose innovative ideas to solve the planet's biggest challenges with innovative ideas for sustainable start-up enterprises.

The local round for Greece will take place on January 12, 2017 at 18:00, at Hellenic American College, 22 Massalias Street, Athens, while the regional competition will take place on March 3 and 4 2017 in London or Dubai at one of the Hult campuses. CEOs, leaders of not-for-profit organizations and major social entrepreneurs will attend the event.

The winning team will receive a one-year membership with the Clinton Global Initiative and will spend summer 2017 at the Hult Prize Accelerator in New York, an innovative hub of social entrepreneurship.

Each winning team will attend CGI's annual meeting. Within the meeting agenda, former President Bill Clinton will host the Hult Prize Global Finals. Here, teams will pitch their ideas in front of a world-class audience where economist and Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, along with CGI Meeting attendees, will select and award the winning team with a USD 1 million prize to help implement and promote their start-up.

As Muhammad Yunus says "If you can create a real business, the beginning of a prototype, you can change the world".
