
On Wednesday, January 22, an open discussion titled "Donald Trump 2.0: Economy and Geopolitics in the New Era" will be organized by the Konstantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy and Hellenic American University on the occasion of the leadership change in the United States.
The U.S. elections and the inauguration of a new President always signify the dominance of a particular worldview and political approach. The aim of the event is to refine our assessments of the U.S. election results, moving beyond secondary or irrelevant discussions, and to evaluate the challenges and opportunities arising for the world and our country from the leadership change in the superpower.
Speakers:
- Dora Bakoyannis, Member of Parliament for New Democracy, Chair of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
- Ino Afentouli, Executive Director of the Institute of International Relations at Panteion University.
- Georgios Stylianos Prevelakis, Emeritus Professor of Geopolitics at Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Paris 1), Distinguished Visiting Professor at Hellenic American University, and former Ambassador.
- Theodoros Pelagidis, Deputy Governor of Bank of Greece, Professor of Economics at the University of Piraeus, and former Acting Minister of Finance.
The discussion will be moderated by journalist Fanis Papathanasiou.
