Hellenic American College will be hosting the launch of the Greek translation of Campbell Purton's work, Person-Centered Therapy, The Focusing-Oriented Approach. The book was translated into Greek by Giorgos Baniokos (MSPSY '15) and edited by Anna Karali and Pavlos Zarogiannis.
In his book, Campbell Purton presents the evolution of person-centered psychotherapy through the eyes of Eugene Gendlin, the therapist who developed the therapeutic process called Focusing. Gendlin's philosophical vision focuses on the ways in which patients conceptualize and interact with their experiential process.
Participating in the event are:
- Giorgos Xiropaidis, Professor of Philosophy and Dean of the Athens School of Fine Arts
- Thanassis Georgas, MD, psychoanalyst and president of the Hellenic Society of Daseinsanalysis
- Alexis Harisiadis, existential psychotherapy, PhD candidate and
- Giorgos Baniokos, mental health counselor, psychotherapist and translator of the book.
The event is organized by the Bachelor of Psychology (BSPsy) of Hellenic American College (HAEC) in cooperation with Hellenic American University (Manchester, NH, USA) and the Hellenic Focusing Center, at the Auditorium, 22 Massalias Street, Kolonaki, on February 28, 2017 at 20:00.
