Hellenic American College, in cooperation with CowboyTv, will host Gameathlon 2014. The event will take place οn July 4-6, 2014 at 22 Massalias Street, Kolonaki.
Tournaments, game consoles and PC’s are just a taste of what’s in store for this year’s Gameathlon, the second in a row to be hosted at Hellenic American College.The event will feature XBOX360 gaming consoles operating in specially designed arenas with new games available for trial as well as tournaments with prize money courtesy of the Hellenic American College. Games include: League of Legends, Dota2, Hearthstone, Starcraft 2, FIFA14, NBA2K, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Halo 4, Injustice: Gods Among Us and Street Fighter Ultimate Edition.
For the first time part of the event will be dedicated to the YouTube crowd involved in Gaming, something which has been planned and implemented for the first time on a national scale.
There will of course be a Cosplay contest which, for the first time, will have two winners. The judging committee can choose its top 5 runner-ups and the winner, while the audience will also have the chance to name its own champion among costumes taken from videogames, movies, anime and manga.
And because videogames wouldn’t exist without board games, this year a whole floor will be dedicated to board games and card tournaments of famous LCG and TCG games, as well as board games sponsored by Fantasy Shop. For the young fans of miniatures games there will be live battles on army-decorated terrains, as well as live paintings by Madness Painting Studio.
Also on the program are parallel workshops on topics such as electronic games development, talks on emerging technologies, new software releases, and mobile application development.
There will be many surprises and giveaways for the public attending the tournaments and the parallel events, as well as stores with gaming, anime, manga, board games, movies, TV series products and memorabilia.
