The Trio Arundos will perform works for woodwinds by contemporary composers in a chamber music concert to be held at the Hellenic American Union auditorium on Thursday, February 27, 2014.
The Music program of Hellenic American College, in cooperation with Hellenic American University (Manchester, NH, USA), and the Greek Composers Union present a concert of chamber music for woodwinds performed by the Trio Arundos. The event will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2014, at 20:30, in the Auditorium of the Hellenic American Union, at 22 Massalias Street, Athens.
The Trio Arundos is made up of woodwind musicians (oboe, clarinet and bassoon) who play in the Athens State Orchestra. The long term cooperation among the three musicians within the wider orchestral ensemble, as well as their mutual interest in furthering the repertoire of what is indeed a sonically sensitive ensemble of woodwinds, has inspired them to form this ensemble, the only such trio in Greece. The ensemble has a wide repertoire including works of contemporary composers, with recent additions of pieces by Antoniou, Travlos, Samaras, Darlas, and Liakakis.
TRIO ARUNDOS consist of: Konstantinos Giovanis (oboe), Grammenos Chalkias (clarinet) and Ioannis Evagelatos (fagotto). Musical pieces by Theodoros Antoniou, Michalis Travlos, Jacques Ibert, Gordon Jacob and Darius Milhaud will be presented during the concert.
Art director: Theodore Antoniou.
