A presentation of the Greek translation of Jerome Rothenberg's poetry book entitled "An Oracle for Delphi", which was recently published in a bilingual edition, will be hosted at the Hellenic American Union Theater (22 Massalias Street, Athens), on April 20, 2017, at 19:30.
The poems in the collection are Rothenberg's notes from his tours in ancient Greek sites, and the poet urges readers to read them as such, highlighting the relations between anthropomorphic animals, zoomorphic people, talking stones, dance rituals and ongoing mediation of the dead everywhere.
Speaking at the event will be university professor and poet, Liana Sakelliou and poet and intermedia artist, Demosthenes Agrafiotis. The translators of the book and poets, Maro Papadimitriou and Iosif Ventouras, will read poems.
