On Tuesday, October 21st, Anna Sarkysian, Lecturer at the University of Essex (UK) Business School will present her paper "Securitization and Bank Performance" as part of the Hellenic American University Research Institute's Faculty Research series. Using predominantly pre-crisis US commercial bank data, this paper employs a propensity score matching approach to analyze whether individual banks improved their performance through securitization.

Anna holds a PhD in Finance from Cass Business School, City University London. Her research focuses on securitization, risk, and performance in banking. She has published in the European Journal of Finance, the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, and the Oxford Handbook of Banking. In 2010, she was awarded the prestigious Lamfalussy Fellowship from the European Central Bank.
