In a concert dedicated to Argiris Kounadis, works will be performed by Lowell Liebermann (Sonata for Contrabass and Piano), Theodoros Antoniou (Odd couple for Contrabass), Thomas Sliomis (Topos ERRE) and George Hatzimichelakis (Invention II for solo contrabass, first version) .
The musical style of these works extends from an imitation of eastern music instruments, to the melodies of haunted revolutionary tunes, thus allowing Vasilis Papavasiliou to unravel his deep and expressive contrabass talent. Fani Antonelou (vocals) and Ai Motohashi (piano) will also perform.
The concert, organized by Hellenic American College's Bachelor of Music (BM) Program in cooperation with Hellenic American University (Manchester, NH, USA) and the Greek Composers Union, will be held on Wednesday, February 25th 2015, at 20:30, in the Hellenic American Union Auditorium located at 22 Massalias Street, Kolonaki.
