Hellenic American College in collaboration with Hellenic American University, and Counseling Psychologist Dimitris Plavoukos, in an attempt to educate, inform and provide awareness on issues of violence, discrimination, racism, homophobia and sexism ,bring to Greece – for the first time ever - the Tunnel of Oppression. The event is open to visitors over 17 years of age. Younger visitors may attend provided they are escorted by a parent or legal guardian.

The Tunnel of Oppression is an interactive theater experience – an integrated event that attempts to educate. It started as a campus grassroots diversity program at Western Illinois University and can now be found at many colleges and universities around the United States. Participants walk in a room designed resembling a tunnel. As they walk through the "tunnel", they come across different acts that display oppression of marginalized groups. The acts will be in Greek. Visitors are strictly prohibited from interacting with the actors. Following the end of their visit, psychologists under the guidance of Anastasia Douka will provide a debriefing as well as counseling to all visitors interested.
