Summer 2015 Aviation & Flight Academy20 March 2015, 12:00 am
This summer, talented high school students ages 15 to 18 will have the chance to learn about aviation and flight in a program that combines online and experiential learning and leads up to actual flight time in training aircraft.
The two-phase program, which is being offered by Hellenic American College (HAEC) and ACS Athens in collaboration with Egnatia Aviation, begins with a month-long online introduction to the key principles of the science of flight led by a HAEC faculty member. This phase of the program includes two onsite meetings at the HAEC Athens campus.
During the second phase of the program, which takes place in Kavala, students develop teamwork skills and observe airport operations and aircraft maintenance practices at Kavala International Airport. They also receive training in Egnatia Aviation's state-of-the-art flight simulators and have a chance to fly Egnatia Aviation's fleet of training aircraft.
