Harper Lee's much anticipated Go Set a Watchman has remained at the top of the bestseller lists in both the USA and Great Britain since its debut, and is scheduled for release in more than 30 countries.
Speaking about the book will be Elias Maglinis (journalist and writer); Soti Triantafillou (translator of the book and writer); Christina Tsagouli (student in the Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature program, Hellenic American University); and Dora Tsibouki (Professor in the Faculty of English Language and Literature, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). Actor Rania Economidou will read excerpts from the book.
Harper Lee is an American writer widely known for her novel To Kill a Mockingbird (1960), which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1962 and became a classic of American literature. Go Set a Watchman features some of the same characters, including Scout, but was actually written and submitted to her publisher some twenty years before the publication of To Kill a Mockingbird. The manuscript was discovered recently by the writer's lawyer and published with Harper Lee's consent as originally written. Its discovery and launch has been greeted with global fanfare, making this book the publishing event of the decade.
The event is organized by the Hellenic American Union in cooperation with Hellenic American College (HAEC) and Bell Editions and will be held on December 14, 2015, at 19:30 in the Auditorium of the Hellenic American Union (22 Massalias Street, Athens).
The presentation will be held in Greek.
Admission is free.
