Gameathlon 2014

11 July 2014, 12:00 am

For the second year in a row, Gameathlon was held with great success at Hellenic American College. The free event charge was organized by CowboyTv and attracted roughly 6,000 visitors – almost 3,000 more than last year.  It took place over the course of three days, July 4 – 6, all day from 10am to 10pm, with a strong presence of both veteran gamers and younger generations of gamers.

Gaming stations were set up throughout the College, with games and consoles such as Dota 2, Fifa 14, Halo 4, League of Legends Starcraft 2, NBA 2K14, Hearthstone, Injustice, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Ultra Street Fighter 4, and even table-top games. In addition, retro game consoles such as NES, Master System, SNES, Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, and Vectrex were also set up along with an Amiga computer so that gamers could see and play some of the most popular retro games. Visitors also had the pleasure of meeting well-known gaming YouTubers in Greece.

The next Gameathlon event is scheduled to take place summer 2015.
