This workshop is for teachers who wish to look into the principles, practices and techniques for teaching children aged 6-12 years old.
Teaching children can be challenging but rewarding for the teacher. The aim is to raise awareness and develop practical skills which are required to teach EFL to young learners effectively. It will provide you with practical ideas on how to approach children and you can use these ideas to design and try out your own activities.
In this workshop you will:
- Discuss stages of child development
- Evaluate and get the most out of coursebooks
- Design lesson plans and accompanying materials, incorporating storytelling, drama, songs, and chants
- Apply principles of effective classroom management
- Reflect on how to use new techniques and methods creatively, e.g. how to use technology effectively and get the most out of Internet resources
