From Self-Doubt to Sales Distinction

David-Oliver, a senior student in the University’s BSc in Business Administration program, secured in June 2025 a role as a D2D, B2B and B2C Sales Representative specializing in energy-related products and services with CQS. He landed the position after attending the 2025 Career Fair. He praises the company’s supportive mentoring and culture, noting:

“Salespeople never feel alone or unprotected.” He values this work experience for its learning opportunities, which enhance both sales performance and personal growth. “One highlight is learning to interact effectively with clients, leading conversations to successful

sales,” he says. “This role has strengthened my skills in negotiating, communicating, and closing deals, invaluable assets for my career.” Initially, David-Oliver doubted he could juggle work, studies and his favorite “hobby-avocation” -firefighting- but proved himself wrong:

His limits were pushed. His confidence was boosted. His resilience was strengthened. “At 22, in my fourth year of studies, I never imagined I could manage such a demanding schedule!”, he admits. After overcoming initial self-doubt, he went on to become a top performer in his department. Grounded self-confidence is crucial: “A large part of our accomplishments comes from our mindset. Our greatest battles are often internal: ‘Can I do this?’, ‘Is this the right path?’, ‘Am I cut out for this work?’ By defeating doubt, you reach your full potential,” says David-Oliver. His message to his fellow students: “Personal growth is the best gift you can give yourself. Keep striving, chase your dreams, stay humble, have a good heart, and everything will fall into place!”

David-Oliver calls the 2025 Career Fair instrumental in meeting people, sharing ideas, and gaining new perspectives. “I left the event with thought-provoking, eye-opening insights. It is a real-world seminar beyond courses and classes”, he says. He also praises the rest of the Career Development Office services:

“They are outstanding! I am truly grateful! Without those in-depth discussions, I could not have made this important decision. I deeply appreciate their professionalism, valuable guidance, and exemplary support.”
