From Career Fair to Playground for Psychologists

Panagiotis, a senior student in the University’s BSc in Psychology program, began in June 2025 an internship with Roots Wellness Center, following an interview at the 2025 Career Fair. He appreciates the unlimited access to diverse psychotherapeutic resources, the opportunity to attend shadow sessions that reveal realworld challenges and solutions for new therapists, and the invaluable guidance of a knowledgeable site supervisor who provides consistent mentorship. He adds: “It truly feels like a playground for psychologists!”

Panagiotis finds this internship extremely helpful for his future career, saying it has clarified previously uncharted areas and calling it an ideal bridge between a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. “Working with material I genuinely enjoy, and will likely continue working with, feels like a real blessing”, he says. He also notes that this training has highlighted aspects of the profession he hadn’t known and familiarized him with challenges and solutions one might encounter in the therapy room. Moreover, he values the convenience of the online format.

Panagiotis says the 2025 Career Fair was remarkably useful. He finds it particularly beneficial that students from every department can explore internships and new job opportunities in a single venue, which he considers a major advantage. He also praises the rest of the Career Development Office (CDO) services, noting he will continue using them. Admitting he hadn’t initially taken seriously the advice on dress code, mock interviews, and CV creation, he concludes: “When I need help with a work application or a Master’s internship, the first thing I’ll do is contact the CDO!”

Panagiotis holds Greek and Swiss citizenship and looks forward to continuing his studies at the Master’s level.
