Organized by the Institute for Innovation and Creativity at ACS Athens, the panel discussion focused on educating for change with the goal of promoting positive public dialogue around the themes of leadership and change.

Dr. Flouris spoke on the Red Balloon Project, an initiative of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and its member colleges and universities to re-imagine and redesign undergraduate education for the 21st century. The Project is creating a national dialogue on educational change, and a repository of resources and demonstration projects to foster innovation in education.

In his talk Dr. Flouris also discussed the Hellenic American University’s General Education program. This program, which is a key part of undergraduate education at the University, combines curricular and co-curricular activities as well as personalized academic services to help students acquire the competencies and knowledge they will need to be successful professionals, engaged citizens, and thoughtful leaders in a global society.
