Classroom Visits

A Writing Center tutor visits each classroom during the first few weeks of the semester to introduce WRC services to students. The tutor shows students how to navigate the WRC on Blackboard, make or cancel an appointment, find writing resources, and provides them with all contact information. The visiting tutor also describes what to expect from and how to prepare for a face-to-face or online tutoring session.

In-Class Workshops

Faculty may contact the Writing Center to schedule a tailor-made writing workshop for their courses. These workshops are conducted during their scheduled class time by the WRC staff and include many writing-related topics including: constructing a clear thesis, correctly citing sources, avoiding plagiarism, or writing coherent paragraphs.

Faculty Workshops

Writing Center workshops provide faculty in all disciplines with practical hands-on exploration of strategies and ideas for giving meaningful feedback that engages students in the writing process.
